Gurugram: Poor infrastructure upkeep irks residents of Vatika City – ET RealEstate

GURUGRAM: Lack of preparedness to check waterlogging in the society, that got flooded last week following rains, has left the residents of Vatika City in Sector 19 miffed. Failing to get the elected members of the residents welfare association (RWA) to discuss the glaring lapses pertaining to society, the residents carried out a protest on the premises on Sunday.

Residents gathered in the society compound and used loudspeakers to call the RWA members of the society to have an open discussion.

“Maintenance in all areas like basement cleaning, lift maintenance, boom barriers, etc. are in delirious state. There’s no accountability of the RWA. All this is turning our society from bad to worse,” said Nitin Mehta, a resident.

The protesters claimed that despite the district registrar finding irregularities in the funds and directing the RWA to follow certain recommendations in July last year year, the RWA has not mended its ways.

The RWA, however, refuted the claims and called them baseless.

“Not even 1% of the total residents support these bunch of people. All these issues were there before we took over last year from the builder. But they never said anything. They just want to malign the RWA for their petty political purpose. The report that they are citing hasn’t concluded anything,” said RWA president Giriraj Gupta.
